Productinformation about blockhain
Origin story Dutch 'vine-ripened' vanilla (ripened on the plant), just as nature intended. Because the pod remains connected to the plant for a longer time, it develops an even richer flavor profile, offering countless new possibilities from a culinary perspective.
Product origin Vanilla (Tlilxochitl) originally comes from Mexico. In ancient Mexico, the Totonac people, from the region now known as Veracruz, were regarded as the producers of the finest vanilla. The Maya and Aztecs had developed a sacred drink made from chocolate and vanilla. The Spanish were so enchanted by it that Hernán Cortés and the conquistadors brought vanilla and chocolate back to Spain, introducing them to Europe. Following its introduction in Europe, the Dutch began cultivating vanilla in their colonies in Java.
