Product description Asparagus

De Wit Asparagus cultivates asparagus in various ways, allowing them to harvest asparagus early (beginning of March) and continue until the end of June. They start the cultivation in greenhouses and tunnels. Once the first spring sunshine is warm enough, they heat the greenhouses and tunnels, and with a little extra help (underfloor heating), they can harvest the first asparagus as early as March.

Productinformation about blockhain
Origin story In 1992, Marc planted his first asparagus. At that time, his parents, Jo and Elly de Wit, ran a mixed farm with dairy cows, pigs, and one hectare of asparagus in the open ground. Marc planted the asparagus with a heating cable beneath the roots to accelerate the harvest. After a few years, the cultivation was expanded with tunnels and several fields of asparagus in the open ground.
Product origin For 25 years, the company has been growing the finest asparagus on the beautiful sandy soils in the regions of Mariaheide, Uden, Veghel, and Vorstenbosch. The season at De Wit starts in early March and traditionally ends at the end of June, just after the longest day of the year.
