De Halm is the only organic breakfast cereal factory in the Netherlands where all of the processes, from crushing the grain to baking and bulk packaging and consumer packaging are done in-house. They are also the only producer of organic oatmeal in the Netherlands.

At that time, they predicted that organic food is the way of the future and were already processing sustainable and locally grown grains. This started out in the barns of local farmers. In 1985, the first custom built milling factory was opened. The current milling processing plant is still located in the same building. |
| Product origin | What makes De Halm unique is that they work with, where possiible, only Dutch grains. If the grain can be grown in the Netherlands and is also available, they will use locally grown grain. In this way they contribute to maintaining or even increasing biodiversity in the Netherlands. |
